Collaborating with Paris-Dauphine to Bridge the Data Gap

Intensive week-long challenge, exploring how data can drive social and environmental impact in emerging markets. Students tackled key questions: How can we strategically engage funders for social projects? How do we maximize data’s potential for positive change?

d-Node had the privilege of partnering with Université Paris Dauphine - PSL as an external expert for the Master 2 Strategy and Marketing cohort's challenge. This collaboration was an exciting opportunity to engage students in tackling real-world challenges around funding data collection and reuse in emerging markets.

Delivering Real-World Impact Through Academic Partnerships

As part of this engagement, d-Node worked closely with students to explore critical questions:

  • How can we create meaningful data in underserved areas to benefit NGOs, international organizations, and entrepreneurs?
  • What strategies can help attract more funding for data collection initiatives?
  • What messages resonate with funders, and how can we mobilize them more effectively?

Through hands-on exercises, strategic workshops, and tailored mentorship, students developed actionable solutions aimed at bridging the data gap in emerging markets.

Innovative Solutions from Future Leaders

We were thrilled by the creativity and dedication of the students, and several teams stood out with particularly strong proposals:

  • d-Consulting: Focused on mobilizing the Ghanaian diaspora to invest in reusable data in the agricultural sector, demonstrating the power of community-driven funding.
  • Co-Angels: Explored strategies to engage entrepreneurs in co-funding data collection efforts while sharing potential revenue streams from data reuse.
  • Bridging Gap: Developed a precise methodology for monitoring and evaluating data-driven initiatives, ensuring long-term community impact and sustainable data generation.

Why Universities Should Engage with d-Node

This collaboration with Dauphine highlights how academic institutions can play a crucial role in shaping the future of data accessibility and impact-driven funding strategies. By integrating real-world challenges into their curriculum, universities can provide students with valuable exposure to pressing global issues while benefiting from d-Node’s expertise in data strategy and funding models.

We invite other universities and schools to join us in this mission. If your institution is looking for meaningful partnerships that bridge theory with real-world application, we’d love to collaborate. Let’s work together to empower students and create sustainable solutions for data access in underserved markets.
